I remember when I was in High School I meet a relative that
come from Balut Island and the islands name was been stored in my memory for so
long. After Visiting Sarangnai Province 4 times a year, I found out that
Sarangni Island is just hours away from my stored vacation plan since my young
age.
So, I search about Balut Island and Sarangani Island, I
search on how to get there, What will be my activities when I reached the
island, what are the places sarangani can offer and so many things.
So it’s started in the Keyword of Balut island or Sarangani
Island. Balut island and sarangani Island is two different island and they are
just 500 Meters from each island.
Balut Island is a small volcanic island located east of
southern Mindanao. The name Balut is came from a Maguindanao word means ISLAND,
the native people of sarangani are the Maguindanao "Philippine Muslim
Tribe".

Access to this island
is via General Santos City with a regular ferry schedule except on Friday.
Travel is overnight, to be exact it takes 5 to 6 hours, leaving General Santos
City around 9:00PM and arrive in Balut Island early in the morning.
M/V Song of Dolly 3 is docked at the Lion’s Beach in General
Santos City. Travels thrice a week from Gensan (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday)
for P360 + P20 gate fee. You may call RD Group of Companies at (083)552 4435
for inquiries and reservation.
Or you may go to the Wharf of Puting Bato to ride the
M/VNieky or M/V Sabgangat.
How to get to Sarangani Island:
At Balut Island Port there are few pump boat that can be
rented. You can arrange a pump boat tour for php 1,000- 2,000 depending on how
many people will be on board.

Where to stay in Balut Island:
You can stay at JVL Inn, the only place is stayed and I was
so comfortable. You can also eat at a small carenderia in town. You can also
order food where you stay at..You can ask the town people when you reach the
port for some overnight stay. People in sarangani Island are really accommodating.
