The New Normal Vacation

Camp Bernardino de Lavigan

The type of vacation you would most likely have in mind is the one that is light and airy, and the one where you don’t really need to pack a lot of things because most of the things you will be needing are already in the hotel. You can just use the provided towels or shampoo, instead of packing one which might just spill inside your bag. That’s such a hassle.

But during this new normal phase, you might be thinking that vacations are hardly possible given the lockdowns and strict safety measures being done by IATF. Vacations seem like a very distant idea which we can only reminisce about. You’re wrong. You’re still actually allowed to go on vacation especially if you have some psychological problems, which means you shouldn’t be exposed to too much stress. Vacations might seem different now than before but you can still have that beach escape you need to keep you sane. Only now, you need to be more cautious of how you travel and the things you need to bring when leaving town. Remember that if you go to a secluded place, you should always be careful and keep in mind that social distancing rules still apply no matter where you are.

So first things first: you need to go to a remote place. If you’re from Mindanao, then you can go to Davao Oriental to experience the best beaches and other natural wonders that they have. In 2020, beach resorts in Davao Oriental have expanded and improved their services to be covid-safe. There’s a long list of what to do in Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental which you can enjoy with your family and friends. Of course you need to be prepared and pack the following. It might sound very tita, but you need to keep yourself and your loved ones safe all the time!

  1. Masks - bring enough for everybody! The best number is twice as many as the days you will spend there. So if you plan to stay for 5 days, bring 10 masks for each person.
  2. Face Shield - you won’t be wearing this at the beach but you need to do so when interacting with others, especially if you plan to buy food from the wet market
  3. Vitamins and Medicines - it’s best to stock on these when you’re in a remote area
  4. Mosquito repellant - fight all the dengue risks with just one rub.
  5. Water - lots and lots of water to keep yourself hydrated and wash away the toxins
  6. Jacket and blanket - you need to keep yourself warm especially at night to avoid risks of flu or cold.

While you visit the newest beach place to relax in Davao Oriental, make sure to come prepared. Check out Camp Bernardino de Lavigan on their Facebook page to get the new normal vacation experience now!
